Various - Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One For The Road
- This comedy album has the cream of the down home comedians poking fun at everyday things in American life. This part of the tour was recorded in our nation’s capital so topics such as what comic Ron White calls “the most useless organization” aka Homeland Security are joked about. Other everyday topics are quipped on such as how when their mother starts to lose their hearing hilarity can ensue. On the track “Erectile Dysfunction & Dieting Tips,” White talks about how his wife goes with him while on tour and this being her first trip to Washington DC she pointed at the several landmarks asking what they were.
White’s reply to one in particular, “Well, we were crossing the Potomac and she says ‘What’s that building?’ I said, well, it was a Hooter’s during the Clinton administration then they turned it back into the Lincoln Memorial.” Jeff Foxworthy is also on the CD and on “Cheapest Lasik Surgery” talks about how he saw a billboard in DC advertising the “cheapest lasik in town. “I mean I like saving money, I don’t think medical procedures are where you wanna do it.” Larry The Cable Guy is also present on the album. In a very thick southern accent, Larry expounds on how he almost missed the tour because he was in Pennsylvania doing a photo shoot for Playboy called “Amish Girls Gone Wild.”
He talks about how on the way he got in an accident and is going to sue GEICO Insurance because they “sent the lizard to handle the claim.” In the end, if you like comedy that has a matter of fact charm to it then “Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One For The Road” will definitely make your day.
