Aynsley Lister - Pilgrimage Mississippi To Memphis
- Aynsley Lister’s “Pilgrimage Mississippi To Memphis” is certainly a journey through the annals of rock ‘n’ roll. Lister and Ian Parker’s guitar play is noticeable on almost every track and that’s favorable. “1010 Degrees” is a song that confirms Lister’s vocal range. “All The Time” is more intimate with group members talking in the background. “Heal Me To Love” has Parker on lead vocals and has a Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty feature to it. “Last Love Song” is an apropos title as it is achingly revealing with lyrics such as, “I don’t wanna watch you get hurt, I don’t wanna put out the flame that still might burn.” “You Don’t Know” picks it up a step with a swing beat and talking to rev up listeners. “Too Much To Hide” is a song about secrets, those disclosed and their consequences. “Mississippi Lawnmower” is an altogether bizarre track name and the musical accompaniment exhibits that. If you want a variety of rock and love songs then by all means go on the “Pilgrimage Mississippi To Memphis” with Aynsley Lister.
