Erin Lee & Marci - Snowdance
- The verbal flair on Erin Lee & Marci’s “Snowdance,” doesn’t digress much and their voices are very childlike, but each song tells its own story that might keep listeners interested. The first track, “This Year,” is evidence of the innocent tone of the album. The title track has savvy piano playing and begins its anecdote with the opening line, “It’s February, it should be snowing but I look out and the grass is green.” The next track, “A View From The Backseat,” gives an account from the backseat perspective complete with the groaning that can occur on a long road trip. There are some kooky song titles on “Snowdance,” for example, “Mud Music.” This song does what the title infers, it talks about mud with words like, “On most days it’s hard to keep clean.” The album is filled to the brim with songs that chronicle mundane events as in, “Waiting For It To Grow,” which talks about growing vegetables with lyrics like, “We picked tomatoes and cooked them up and our spaghetti sauce tastes so fine.” All in all, if you like songs that tell a story and assorted sounding vocals, then go out and “Snowdance” with Erin Lee & Marci.
