Glenna Bell - Face This World
- “How will I face this world without you?” asks an uncertain, but by no means helpless, feminine voice on the title track “Face This World.” Leaning on the sturdy, unadorned accompaniment of an acoustic guitar, her tender, yet strangely stoic vocals find strength. At the same time that your heart goes out to her, you somehow know she will be just fine. Perhaps that singular duality, this alluring balance of soft vulnerability and unshakeable poise is what you will come to admire about Glenna Bell, gifted country poet and proud Daughter of the Republic of Texas.

On “Face this World,” Bell delivers another revealing collection of songs reliving life’s lessons learned through love and the often-inescapable sting of heartbreak, and relying on minimal country rhythms. Likened to the manner of Johnny Cash, Bell’s emphasis on simplicity unleashes music at once powerfully quiet and stunning.
