Andrea Burns - 100 Stories
- Andrea Burns has filled the shoes of West Side Story’s ‘Maria’ in the opera houses of Europe, has been the yellow-gowned, waltzing Belle to the Beast on Broadway and played Vicki Nichols in “The Full Monty.” Now, to the delight of electronica/ club music heads, Andrea Burns is polishing her singer/songwriting chops, gracing the collection, Femme Fatale: Divas of Dance Music, and recently releasing the single “100 Stories.” The promising track features expressive vocals and a pleasant melody, and on the CD, “100 Stories” you can hear 10 renditions of the same track. This is great for those music lovers who drive their friends crazy by playing their favorite song of the week… month… year… over and over and over again. No more CDs scratched from the wear and tear, and friends alienated by your obsession; this album lets you hear the same song almost a dozen times - only now, with a touch of variety in the mix.
That’s right: there’s the highly amped, neck snapping “100 Stories” a la Josh Harris; the more futuristic/whooshing sound of Noel Sanger’s mix; the obligatory, radio friendly “100 Stories” with a short and sweet pop treatment; the fresh-squeezed, pesticide-free, Organic “100 Stories” - that you have to hear to believe; and of course, the completely stripped, acapella “100 Stories.” So, just maybe, your roommate won’t realize he’s actually hearing the same track for approximately an hour at a time. That, in itself, is a giant leap for obsessed-kind.
