Butch Walker - Rise & Fall of Butch Walker & The Let's-Go-Out-Tonites
- Butch Walker’s new album “The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let’s-Go-Out-Tonights” literally opens with ooohs and aaahs and soon lives up to these well enough with strong openers like “Hot Girls in Good Moods” and “Ladies & Gentlemen…The Let's Go Out Tonites,” however, it isn’t long before “We’re All Going Down” and “Dominoes” bring the record to a screeching halt. These two songs had no place on this album. They just didn’t fit with the fun groove of the rest of the album. The record soon restarts with “Paid to Get Excited” possibly the best song on the album and is a strong opener of the second act of this album (with “We’re All Going Down” and “Dominoes” forming an intermission of sorts). The second half of this album is much stronger than the first and well-worth listening to. I have mixed feelings about this album as a whole, though it’s so good, starting with track seven that I’m willing to say it’s a fairly good album overall.
