Dan Reeder - Sweetheart
- Dan Reeder’s “Sweetheart” is all over the map in terms of musical stylings – but it works.
The CD starts off with an acapella song about waiting for cappuccino since1969. The CD then turns to an instrumental track that sounds like it should be played as cowboys pass through the Old West. Then the album takes another turn to a song about a doctor telling a patient he will never surf again.
See I told you it was all over. But, it works.
Many of the songs have a western theme, but are different enough so you don’t really notice this trend. The acoustic guitar and vocals work well to tell the story each song is trying to portray.
The eccentric “Sweetheart” is a unique album, something most listeners have never heard, which is why it is a good CD.
