Chris Thile - How To Grow a Woman From the Ground
- On “How to Grow a Woman From the Ground” Chris Thile creates an album that seems both old and modern. Songs such as “Wayside (back in time)” conjure images of old blue grass drawing some similarities to the “O Brother Where Art Thou” soundtrack that swept the Grammys a few years back. On the other hand, songs such as “You’re an Angel and I’m Gonna Cry,” show a more modern country music edge to the album. These two influences fit together seamlessly on this strong album. This is one for both old school blue grass fans as well as modern country listeners. Thile comes through with a strong heart and tenderness that isn’t often seen in music today but this music seems to be coming from a genuine place in his soul and rushes in to meet your ears and perhaps even dance with your soul as it moves through you.
