3 Is the Magic Number
An alternative rock band with a multifarious blend of lyrics is one way to elucidate Action Reaction's "3 Is the Magic Number." Vocalist Jason Gleason's sonorous voice gives a sui generis charge to the album's lyrics that will make listeners stand up and take notice. The first track, "Sinner's Algebra," has conspicuous lyrics like, "It don't matter what you call it, just kiss the iron sky with your one good eye." "Can You Hear The Sun?" has wind in the background and a tranquilizing "ooohhh" tags along. Yet the suaveness is jolted away by Gleason's ragingly grisly lyrics such as, "Hey, this is the way we all become/Hey, this is where we started from last time, six holes in the ground." The third track, "March On," has palpitating electric guitar work that simulates a patrol. "At The Moon" has elaborate guitar strumming which outlines the band's instrumental qualifications and the lyrics give an illustration of a far-off place with lyrics like, "Rain storms fall down, as we wait for the sunrise." "Come See My Grave" could be construed as a song about the ghost of a lost love and has an oddball stroke to it. Gleason says U2 and Pearl Jam are among the band's musical influences and their full-toned lyrics and virtuoso instrument work are proof of that. Action Reaction's "3 Is the Magic Number," is disposed to become one of the leading alternative rock albums of all time and listeners should keep their eyes open for momentous things to come in this band's future.
