Al Di Meola - Consequence of Chaos
- Al Di Meola has been known as a guitar virtuoso for over two decades. His newest release is “Consequence of Chaos.” The first track, “San Marco,” sounds like a song that would be playing during a seductive dance scene in a movie. Maybe Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek/Penelope Cruise would be the leads. Most of the songs remind me of Santana tracks, but where Santana’s were more rock these have a jazzy Latin feel to them. My only problem with the album is that sometimes the jazz sound can be confused with elevator music, which is why track eight, “Red Moon,” is my favorite off the album. It sounds more like the jazz music it’s intended to sound like instead of muzak. Track 11 is called “Tempest” and for good reason. If a woman wants to set the mood, playing this track should do the trick. A sexy outfit might not hurt matters also. Plus, the song is extra long, clocking in at almost nine minutes. I’m not a huge fan of instrumental music; I like to sing along to songs, but I could find myself listening to this album and enjoying the music for what it is. Jazz enthusiasts will properly appreciate this album.
