Ten Count Fall

A drum happy band with meaningful lyrics is the way to label Ten Count Fall's self-titled album. "Cut Harder" is the transcendental head banging song that listeners can just cut loose to with friends or all alone in their room. Yet its lyrics don't fit with the beat as they are about deceit with lines like, "Put on your makeup/but you're so obvious, complaining about every little thing when you know the truth." "Art of Poisoning" conveys the idea of the band pursuing their true love with the line, "Looking for my heroine." "Waking Up" slowly gets under way and builds to a climax with a cluster of instruments including electric guitar. "Alone" has people in the background talking and is a song about frustration with lines like, "I've lost my patience with this conversation, it's slowly going nowhere." "Cliffhanging Yourself" is a peculiar track name and is about deception with lines like, "Sitting here all this time, growing sick of all your lies." "We're Not Leaving" has beleaguered lyrics like, "We always dreamed we'd get out of this alive." Ten Count Fall's self-titled album has an assemblage of songs about guile and mistrust but underneath is a band that has an entertaining sound.
