Chingy - Hoodstar
- Chingy’s new album “Hoodstar” is the definition of why those over 50 do not understand the current generation’s music. The album is a good rap album, but those over 50 will not understand the appeal of rapping or singing about sneakers, booty shaking, and club hopping.

The album’s first single is “Pullin’ Me Back,” featuring Tyrese. It was a little bit of a surprise this song was chosen as the first single, as it is a rap ballad, which is usually the second or third single of the album. The song is much different than Chingy’s first single “Right Thurr,” which may be the reason it was chosen.

Other than “Pullin’ Me Back,” the rest of the album stays true to Chingy’s style of club hopping beats and lyrics about girls and kicks. I thought it was a bit excessive to have two songs about footwear, but clearly Chingy did not.

The album also has its fair share of appearances by other rap stars including Three 6 Mafia, Fatman Scoop, and Jermaine Dupri.

Chingy provides a great rap album to throw in the car and listen as you bounce down the street or need to get a party started.
