Fred Tackett - In a Town Like This
- “In a Town Like This” by Fred Hackett is a solid Folk album with a twangy, country feel.
The songs that appear on this album are the type of songs you expect to hear outside an old convenience store in the Deep South. The use of the banjo and acoustic guitar give these songs this type of feel. Occasionally the songs will speed up, and you can see the old guy in the corner banging the spoons on his knees, dancing to the songs.
The lyrics are the classical, country storyteller’s. Each sons tells its own story about country life and perfectly fits into the four-minute allotment it is given.
“In a Town Like This” is a high-quality album that can take one back on a trip to parts of the country very few of us actually travel to.
