Primus - They Can’t All Be Zingers- Best of Primus
- For those who, in the 90s, were crazy about alternative rock bands, one band on the scene during that time was Primus. They Can’t All Be Zingers: Best of Primus is an anthology of the band’s music, and for fans it’s a trip down memory lane, but might also introduce new supporters to the band’s exclusive sound. “To Defy the Laws of Tradition” has bass guitar work from Les Claypool. Its peculiar riffs could make this song one in a slasher movie, as the psycho shadows his mark and is about to strike the deadly blow. “John the Fisherman” has drum play from Tim “Herb” Alexander, more bass work from Claypool and vocals from Tom Waits. “Too Many Puppies” has scattered guitar work from Larry LaLonde in the intro. “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver” begins with the revving up of a car, then segues into guitar work from LaLonde and drum play from Alexander. It also includes indecipherable vocals from Waits. If you like obtuse sounds, are a fan of the alternative rock movement, or want to try something outside your normal musical tastes, then They Can’t All Be Zingers: Best of Primus is a sure thing.
