Angel Travis - The Woman In Me
- An album overflowing with songs about the value of being, encompasses The Woman In Me by Angel Travis. “Think Of You” has Hammond organ work from Herman Jackson and guitar work from Dean Pleasants. Travis’ melodious voice echoes such lines as, “Don’t understand this feelin’…can’t do anything for awhile then I think of you…toes hangin’ off the couch.” On “Still Love You,” there is keyboard and piano work from Jackson, and Travis explains how she still pines for her beloved who has gone, with lines like, “Long years…now torn by fear...I still alone, knowing something is missing.” “Sunset” has more piano play from Jackson and lines expounding about a man’s spiritual journey with lines like, “You were a man who was born to die…and he danced with danger, played with strangers…I asked him if he was afraid he said ‘Hell, No’ cause God’s not the wager, you know that God’s not a stranger.” The title track is a slow song about letting things pass, with lines like, “It may take some time till I learn to let this go.” The Woman In Me, by Angel Travis, has songs that will make a listener ponder their deepest beliefs while enjoying melodies that sing to their soul.
