Autodrone - Panic
- Autodrone, a female-fronted indie rock band, has released Panic, a six song EP filled with fierce guitar riffs and attitude. Lead singer Rachel Luria screams, shrieks, mumbles, and sometimes even sings her lyrics with fortitude and raucous energy. Her voice is more Gwen Stefani (No Doubt) than Amy Lee (Evanescence) or Shirley Manson (Garbage), so don’t expect any ballads that take your breath away.
Truth be told, I only really enjoyed two of the six songs on the disc, those being the title track, “Panic,” and “Between Walls.” These two standouts weren’t enough for me to absolutely love the EP as a whole, but it does leave intrigue as to what Autodrone might produce on an upcoming full-length album. The verdict – let’s wait and see.
