Delana Stevens - Welcome To My World
- Welcome To My World, by Delana Stevens, ushers listeners into a universe of desolation and also one of self-discovery. The title track opens the album and Stevens’ voice has an acrid touch to it, with bitter lyrics like, “He walked out on me today, never liked me anyway, always looked at other girls.” “Smarter Everyday” reflects on the past and its mistakes, with lines like, “She said it’s funny lookin’ back on the early years when I was in tears.” “Don’t Sweat The Little Things” has a slower flow, piano play, and lines about a treachery and finding a way to get over it, with lines like, “I packed up that car just as fast as I could, headed west out to Hollywood. Thought a change of pace might do me so good to get over too much water under that bridge, to get past what he did, not to mention who he did it with.” Welcome To My World, by Delana Stevens, is a glimpse inside the world of the artist, the malaise of time gone by and the promise of the future.
