Carnie Wilson - A Mother’s Gift: Lullabies From the Heart
- Following the birth of her first child, Carnie Wilson bestows “A Mother’s Gift: Lullabies From the Heart” on those who wish to hear the sweet strains of a mother crooning to her baby. “Over The Rainbow” has acoustic guitar work from Michael Thompson, Robert Bonfiglio, and Guy Walker, piano play from Jim Brickman and keyboard work from Jack Kugell, Dennis Gallo, and Jason Pennock. Wilson gently emotes instantly recognizable lyrics like, “Somewhere over the rainbow, way up here. There’s a land that I heard of, once in a lullaby.”
“Love Me Tender,” has seamless piano play from Brickman, enriching Wilson’s lyrics like, “Love me tender, love me sweet. Never let me go.” “Lola Sofia,” is Wilson’s ode to her one year old daughter and one can almost picture her rocking the baby to sleep while she sings such lyrics as, “Little Lola Sofia, lay your head on mama’s shoulder.”
“When You Dream,” has guitar work from Thompson, as well as keyboard play from Kugell, Gallo and Pennock. Wilson has a duet with her father Brian Wilson, member of the Beach Boys on “You Are So Beautiful.” The duo take turns as Brian Wilson opens the song with “You are so beautiful to me..” Carnie Wilson responds in kind reiterating the same line with wholehearted tenderness. “A Mother’s Gift: Lullabies From the Heart” by Carnie Wilson is the perfect offering to give the mother of a baby in your life and one they will cherish for years to come.
