Kenny & Amanda Smith Band - Tell Someone
- A beatific voice that resounds tales of holy reverence describes Kenny & Amanda Smith Band’s Tell Someone. “Shoutin’ Time” has acoustic guitar play that revs up in the intro and impish lyrics about the Lord like, “In the arms of my dear Savior…It’s shoutin’ time in heaven salvation’s been brought down…I’m walkin’ on the highway built by love, my name’s written down in the courts above.” “Someday Soon” has what sounds like a banjo along with the acoustic guitar and lyrics like, “Someday soon…All the saints will be moving on that resurrection day. We’ll be walking down by the river down the streets of purest gold and with the Lord we’ll be forever.” “Mary Had a Little Boy” is a tale of a lad, whose soul went from pure to evil, with lyrics like, “Mary had a little boy, soul was white as snow. He never went to Sunday school cuz Mary wouldn’t go. He never heard the tales of Christ through a child’s mind. When other children went to school this boy was left behind…A soul that once was a snowy white had become a dingy gray. Realizing he was lost, but this soul that was once as white as snow had turned a dirty black.” Kenny & Amanda Smith Band’s Tell Someone has epilogues from above that speak of the Almighty’s love and also of what can happen when you go adrift from the holy path.
