Milkshake - PLAY!
- An amusing album for children who want to hear about undertakings on the high seas and tales of just having some good old fun. Milkshake’s third album, aptly titled, PLAY!, has music that will make a kid smile. “We Got a Band” is about how a batch of friends get together and form a band, with lines like, “I’m not gonna just sit around, wonderin’ what to do. Gonna call my friends get together and play a few new tunes. One plays drums, one plays bass, I play my guitar. We’ll have fun rockin’ up the place and pretend we are superstars.” “Imagination Nation” is just the right song for a child whose creativity is ripe for the picking. It has idealistic lines like, “Imagination nation is where I’ll be. So open up your mind and come with me.” “Pirates” has bird racket and sounds one would associate with a boat, and even the commotion of what sounds like bagpipes. The vocalist hums like a privateer as she utters such lines as, “Hey ho! Hoist the anchor friends. Hey ho ! Hey Ho! Come sail the seas again. I am the master of my fate, the captain of my ship. I chose to sail the seven seas and make the most of it.” Milkshake’s PLAY! is a buffet of high-jinks and educational songs for children, that will enable them to learn about things like pirates and the great ocean, and have a ball all the while.
