American Plague - God Bless the American Plague
- God Bless the American Plague might seem like a statement against the U.S. government; however, the band, American Plague, stays away from an overtly political message to provide its fans its rock album.

The knock against the album is that on some of the songs it is very hard to understand the lyrics, as it seems the lead singer has his mouth pressed up against the microphone, blurring his words. The lyrics, when they can be heard, are perfect for what rock fans expect to hear. “I know what you are going through,” is the chorus line from “Sympathy for the King.”

“War Song” is the best song on the album. It might sound like the title of a Marilyn Manson type-song, but it is actually one of the slowest songs on the album. The build-up during the verse, until the chorus, is pulled off wonderfully each time.

God Bless the American Plague is a strong rock album that die-hard fans of the style are bound to enjoy.
