The Beatles - Love
- The foursome from Liverpool are resurrected and their greatest hits are showcased in all their radiance, on Love, by The Beatles. It is the ultimate best-of compilation album for any diehard Beatles fanatic. Love is the brainchild of the group’s longtime producer, George Martin, and his son, Giles. It was devised as a stageshow soundtrack for the Las Vegas show, “Cirque du Soleil.” Many of the band’s most renowned songs are on the album and on many of the tracks, enthusiasts can be heard shrieking their undying idolization for the “Fab Four.” “Because” opens the album with class act harmonies and calming beats, it talks of the artistry of life, complete with bird twittering in the distant background. Its lyrics include, “Because the world is round, it turns me on…Because the wind is high it blows my mind. Because the wind is high. Ohh, love is old, love is new. Love is all, love is you.” “Get Back” has Ringo Starr’s signature drum playing and a fail-safe build-up that will rev up any devotee into a fury. On “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” the bellows of groupies can be heard and this makes the immortal lyrics of the song resonate even more profoundly. For those who were present during the era of “Beatlemania,” the feeling the track evokes will be eternally embedded in their memory, such as many of the 26 tracks on this anthology. Those timeless lines being, “Oh yeah, I’ll tell ya somethin’ I think you’ll understand, when I say that something, I wanna hold your hand.” Love, by The Beatles, gives the band the respect they deserve and will wow those who are all too aware of how The Beatles altered musical history forever.
