Adrienne Frantz - Anomaly
- Adrienne Frantz: Stick to the Soap Operas
Adrienne Frantz, best known for her acting work in soap operas such as The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, has recently embarked on her latest creative endeavor. Her debut album, Anomaly, is a collection of ambient ballads that Frantz wrote on her own. Her sound is extremely reminiscent of Tori Amos, especially considering the fact that Frantz plays the piano along with many of the songs on the album. Frantz sings with passion and her lyrics are sweet and flirty, but her music as a whole is lacking something. The songs on this album rarely progress into anything more than a blur of anti-climactic drum beats and repetitive strums at the guitar. Yet, it is nice to see an actress who doesn't move into the music industry by way of choreographed dance steps and cheesy pop rifts. Adrienne Frantz does in fact have her own idea of what she wants her music to become, she just needs some more work in developing her songwriting into something that grabs a listener's attention.
