Artie Traum - Thief of Time
- Artie Traum’s album, Thief of Time, is somewhat hard to describe. It’s part jazz, part soft rock and a little sprinkling of country. Traum plays guitar on the album, and he’s accompanied by piano and drums.

Traum’s music has an element of simplicity. The album doesn’t rely on heavy production to make it sound better. Instead, the singing and background instruments are enough to support the album and make it marketable.

The songs are varied enough to keep the album fresh from the first track to the last. For example, while Traum is usually the only voice in the songs, “Back In The Sugarcane” features a female voice along with Traum’s.

According to Traum’s website, he has performed on over 20 albums and played a part in the developing 1970s acoustic music scene. After reading all this, I have to wonder why I’ve never heard of him. Maybe I’m just not in tune enough to the acoustic music genre.
