Joe - Ain't Nothing Like Me
- Joe has an odd way of making sexual advances sound like romantic propositions. For example, part of his song “Go Hard” says, “And I want to get that / I want to hit that.” However, the lyrics almost sound sweet because of the smooth R&B music and Joe’s equally smooth voice. The same is true for every song on "Ain’t Nothing Like Me." No matter what the lyrics happen to be talking about the quiet but upbeat music makes this album seem perfect for a little romantic seduction. Unfortunately all of the tracks follow the same format. After the first five tracks or so they all start to run together. Each song has a similar beat, tempo and overall sound. “Just Relax” is a slight exception because it includes another male voice toward the end of the song. The music has a catchy back beat and some other barely noticeable instruments in the background. "Ain’t Nothing Like Me" isn’t a bad album, but it should be taken in doses. Listening to it from beginning to end could become tiresome.
