Ben Marshall - Songs for Everyone
- "Songs for Everyone" is a fitting name for the newest album by Ben Marshall. The music combines parts of several different genres, and the end result will be pleasing to a large range of music fans.

The album sounds somewhat like pop, indie and acoustic soft rock stirred together. The distant vocals over-top of mainstream guitar sounds make the music difficult to classify. The style is engrossing even though it’s hard to find a name for it.

One thing "Songs for Everyone lacks," however, is a considerable amount of variety between the tracks. The vocals are the main culprit-–Marshall’s voice never seems to stray from a certain range and style on the album.

Luckily the instrumentation changes significantly and keeps the music sounding fresh. It could be argued that the background sounds are more interesting than the singing. The instruments even sound like they were recorded louder when the album was made.

Overall "Songs for Everyone" is appealing and contains an interesting mix of genres, but small problems keep the music from seeming truly great.
