Enter the Haggis - Northampton (Live)
- Enter the Haggis’ “Northampton (Live)” has a down-home vibe to it with splendiferous harmonizing from the group. The undiluted ecstasy of the audience is evidenced by their howling during each track, and the band seems to be enjoying the music just as much as the crowd.
On “One Last Drink” you can hear the hoots and whistles of the congregation as the band begins the song with drums and harmonica play. The band members then link their voices together in beautiful harmony as they sing, “So fire up that fiddle boys. Give me one last drink. When the sun comes up I will leave without a fight, the world is mine tonight.” This song encompasses that feeling of overwhelming power when one is smashed and they think they can do no wrong.
“Fiddle Set” has a catchy beat that listeners will find difficult not to get down to. The flow is so rhythmic that the flock of fans can be heard in the background clapping right along with the instruments.
On “Another Round” there is drum and percussion work with a pop-like beat. Again, listeners can hear the loyal following screaming their recognition in the background as the band harmonizes such lines as, “Another round. Eagles fly over head…Sun will rise, sun will set.” This song seems to be chronicling how days go by.
“Northampton (Live)" from Enter the Haggis is an album that accentuates why live albums attest to the fervor felt by the band as well as their enthusiasts. Listeners can hear the electricity and love they have for the band, and they can also hear the eagerness with which the band gives their all in each and every song.
