Just Before Sunrise

Like Josh Groban's music (but featuring a deeper voice), Nathan Gunn's album, "Just Before Sunrise," is one beautiful melody after another. The vocals and music are soft, sweet and comforting.

All of the tracks are laid-back and smooth. Track four, a good representation of the rest of the album, opens with an airy flute and several stringed instruments before Gunn's baritone voice softly chimes in. It almost sounds like a concert band performance with a vocal section.

Although most of the album travels at slow pace, it picks up slightly in track five. To make things sound even more different, the song features a female voice that is much higher pitched than Gunn's, but equally pleasing.

"Just Before Sunrise" treats listeners with two equally great artists instead of just one star. Gunn is a talented vocalist, but the instruments also contribute immensely. Even though they mostly play in the background, they provide ample support for Gunn's voice and could shine on their own.
