My Dear Disco - My Dear Disco EP
- The techno, funk and pop fusion on My Dear Disco’s self-titled album creates an upbeat but trance-like experience for the listener. Each track is full of electronic beats and spacey sounds that provide the background for the lead singer’s airy voice.

Although there are only five songs, each one is long and involved -– they don’t follow the verse-chorus-verse format. Also, the variety of tracks provide an adequate sampling of My Dear Disco’s range of styles.

One of the tracks, titled “Clubbin,’” hardly seems like it’s appropriately titled. The main melody seems to be played by bagpipes with an electronic twist. Throughout the song, the sound sits on the fence between realistic instrumentation and complete techno. In contrast, the song “Madame Eon” seems closer to a mainstream pop song than something you’d hear on an electronic album.
