Bitter:Sweet - The Remix Game
- The Remix Game, from Bitter:Sweet, is a savvy remix of the band’s debut album, The Mating Game. The band had reinforcement from some of the best remix producers in the business such as Thievery Corporation and Fort Knox Five. The palpitating rhythms and beats that are compiled within this album will adhere to listeners of electronica, Emo, rock and even pop. Each song has its own style and all are incredibly danceable.

“Heaven (Nicola Conte ‘West Coast Vibes’ Remix)” starts off the album and it has a funky '60s beat to it. This is one song that would have been heard at the famous New York disco night club, “Studio 54,” as dancers moved their bodies to the percussion and what sounds like flute play. The female vocalist’s timbre is hypnotic as she seductively whispers about feeling like she is on cloud nine every time her beloved looks at her, as she sings such lyrics as, “Nobody knows what to think. Truth is I go to heaven everytime you look at me. If I wait too long I might not say goodnight.”

On “Dirty Laundry (Skeewiff Remix),” the song opens with rhythmical throbbing drums that will grab listeners’ notice right off the bat. Electric guitar riffs and electronic sounds that enter midway through the song, give the song a techno vibe that tightens up the song remarkably. The female singer’s vocals echo and listeners might get the notion they are sinking into a bottomless void of music as they listen to this song. She goes on about a particular man in her life that has a lot of baggage that she cannot seem to keep in check, yet they seem to continue coming together in the end. She croons about their tendencies, with lyrics like, “I’ve got a bad boy…His dirty laundry is nothing that I can keep clean…I think I’d rather misbehave…I’m just a bad girl that’s why we get along.” It seems the female vocalist does not care for her man’s habits, but since they share congruous bad traits, she is letting certain things go.

“Don’t Forget to Breathe (Solid Doctor ‘Don’t Forget the Beat' Remix)” has what sounds like acoustic guitar play and the female singer’s tone gets deeper and lusher on this track. She emotes about shady things, with lyrics such as, “Unlike anything I’ve known…In the dark.”

Bitter:Sweet’s The Remix Game is an album that will force listeners to run to the nearest dance floor and boogie to each track’s bevy of synthy sounds. The female singer’s voice is so mesmerizing that listeners will not be able to stop themselves from cascading into the divine rhythms and beats the album provides.
