Bernie Worrell - Improvisczario
- Bernie Worrell’s “Improvisczario” is a record by an acclaimed keyboardist who studied at Julliard and was a founding member of the Parliament-Funkadelic, which also included noted artist George Clinton. This album mixes several sundry instruments to form melodies that will be music to jazz fan's ears.

“New Boss” begins with rhythmic drum work and abstract percussion going on in the background. As these two instruments coalesce together a sensually smooth jazz flow arises. Worrell’s prowess on the keyboard then enters the picture, changing the tone of the song to a more classical one.

On “Up in the Hills” the song starts off with what sounds like a banjo. No matter what the instrument, a country feel takes over, which is aided by some dimmed speaking in the background. More of what could be a banjo along with guitar play meld with Worrell’s adept keyboarding to bring listeners’ a song that is extraordinarily fast-paced with a seamless flow.

“Bass on the Line” has low guitar chords in the introduction, which are later accompanied by skillful drum and whimsical saxophone work. Worrell’s tapping can be faintly heard in the background but on this track, the bass play is the star and listeners will have no doubt about that.

“Improvisczario,” from Bernie Worrell, is an album that pools together various instruments of jazz and utilizes them to the hilt. Every song has its own flavor and listeners will delight in taking robust bites out of this album.
