Sakai - Dream Big
- With its infectious underlying beats, "Dream Big" will having you tapping along to even the slower songs. Sakai has a soulful voice layered on top of various funk-like beats. The record tells stories of friendship, romance and dreams. The first song, “I Like,” will nestle itself deep in your head for days to come. The hook is very catchy and sounds like a song that would be played on top 40 radio. Her voice is very versatile and can be deep and soulful in one song and high and airy in another. The real appeal of this CD is the heavy beat dance feel of it. It is hard to keep from moving while listening to it; I found myself bobbing my head and tapping my toes. It is refreshing to listen to all the different styles infused into this album. Each song sounded very different than the last, which is something that has been forgotten in some of the music on the radio today.
