Freezepop - Future Future Future Perfect
- “Future Future Future Perfect,” from Freezepop, is the quintessential electronica album with its futuristic beats, which are incredibly danceable and are sure to be heard at your local nightclub. The female vocalist’s timbre gets so hypnotic that listeners will no doubt be mesmerized by her voice and picture a kaleidoscope of beams bouncing off of patrons as they move their bodies to each track’s infectious rhythm.
“Less Talk More Rokk” has a synthy intro that has a funkiness to it. This song was featured in the Sony Playstation 2 game “Guitar Hero II.” The pace of the song gets quicker as it continues until it sounds as if it is on fast-forward. The female vocalist sings about a place where people go to experience good music, but it is not a pleasant location based on her description. “The basement scene is dark and dirty. The musty smell of stale air…People stumble down the stairs. Let’s get this party started…Their songs are really kick a**, we’re dancing like we’ve never danced before.”
On “Brainpower” static starts off the song and then avant-garde pitches take over. This song has an 80s feel as the female vocalist croons about how the band chose their group’s name, but now they are rethinking their decision. “Had a great idea the other day, gonna start a new band…We’ll be the best…Brainpower, brainpower, brainpower, brainpower, brainpower, brainpower, brainpower, brainpower…Its not a good band name.” She seems to be saying that she thought she had a miraculous brainstorm, but in practice it does not sound so great.
“Do you like Boys?” has an upbeat tone that has a video game-like vibe to it. The female vocalist goes on to question which gender her man seems to prefer, the male or female one. “Who said he that could not love just one girl...And now your sayin’ that your not sure if you want him or me…Do you like boys…I want to know now do you like boys?”
Freezepop’s “Future Future Future Perfect” is filled with tracks that have cutting edge timbres that will infect listeners and make them groove to the sounds this pioneering group invokes.
