Firefly - Boho Sheep
- Firefly’s “Boho Sheep” is an album with evocative musings and mellow instrumentation that will leave listeners agog. The female vocalist’s timbre is so sweet that it will mesmerize listeners into a state of utter relaxation.
The first track has soulful acoustic guitar and drum work, as the female vocalist sings about how her lover has stirred powerful emotions inside her. “You’re the one who made me. You’re the one who makes me whole…You’re the one who makes me search my soul…Maybe cuz I know the truth. That you are the one who sets my soul on fire. You are the one who fills my heart’s desire.” The intensity with which the female vocalist sings each line will conveys the depth of her adoration.
With the second track, specific acoustic guitar chords start off the song. The female vocalist’s timbre produces a hypnotic tone as she attempts to apologize to her beau. “Don’t mean to make you cry. That was the last thing on my mind…Forgive me if I made you cry…You’re my inspiration…Please understand I had to leave you. Forgive me if I made you cry.”
On the third track, the guitar play breeds a country music rhythm as the female vocalist muses with a sad tone about how a certain someone in her life cannot seem to express his innermost feelings and how his inadequacy to communicate has hurt their bond. “How do you feel? I’ll never know. Keep your feelings buried cuz they don’t show. Falls to me, if I want. To reach out with my hand but I won’t. Now here we are…Wonder how we can get to this place. See the smoke burns my eyes. Thought it was you but I was wrong.”
“Boho Sheep,” from Firefly, is an expressive record from a band that is not afraid to put their sentiments into song. The female vocalist’s passionate timbre, along with the skillful instrumentation from the remainder of the band, expresses deep and steadfast emotions, touching listeners to their very core.
