Arkin Terrell - One Step Closer
- Country artist Arkin Terrell releases his debut album on iWitness Records. 31-year-old Terrell is a highly respected figure in country and Christian music. Terrell’s religious upbringing and position as a lay minister, in combination with his musical influences, have led him to see music as another way to be a minister. He signed with iWitness Records during the summer of 2007 and is their flagship artist.
“One Step Closer” is an inspired and beautifully written record. Though Terrell is often known as a Christian music artist, this album does what many Christian records cannot; it transcends the stereotypes of the genre and is subtle yet guiding. “If This Is All There Is” provides a perfect example for the way Terrell mixes country with Christian ideas. “Prints of Peace” is a more obvious track, but is still not overpowering in religious sentiment. “Wise To You” is a mixed perfection of gospel, rock, blues and country. “One Step Closer” will easily put Arkin Terrell on the country radar.
