Amateur Radio Operator - Sirens of Titan
- Seattle’s Amateur Radio Operator releases their latest effort, “Sirens of Titan,” on December 8th. The group began in 2005 with Mark Johnson, who provides both lyrics and vocals to the band. Over the past few years, it has become an eclectic mix of guitar, pedal steel, cello, bass and percussion. The group has gained recognition through their live shows and unusual sound.

“Sirens of Titan” combines uniquely written music with Johnson’s eerie vocals, creating an addicting mix of musical depth. “Water Shed” starts out the record, creating images of beatnik hangouts and the experimental music of the 1960s and 1970s. “Bottle Treez” emphasizes the vocal style of Johnson, with country infused music backing him. “Sirens of Titan” will definitely inspire a second listen to catch the full lyrical meanings and subtleties of the music.
