- Sally Anthony’s “Goodbye” is a record by an artist whose influences include such diverse performers as Ani DiFranco, Eminem and Madonna. Anthony mixes indie beats with resonant Emo melodies to form an absolutely unique sound.
The second track has a medieval tone to it that is fused with electronica-like sounds for an unparalleled opening. The guitar and drum play weave together, as Anthony emotes about wishing for her sweetheart to remain in her life. “You’re gonna gonna get…You have made me this way…I’ll let you go when I hope you stay…Goodbye.”
The third track has slow and precise guitar strumming along with Anthony’s pleasing harmonizing. On this song, she goes on about being out of the loop when it comes to her mate’s current whereabouts. “Can I ask you somethin’?…Cuz baby I know nothin’ about where you these days. Wonder where you are now? Where you lay your head…I remember what we had. I know that something is going on.”
On the fifth track, Anthony displays her playful side. She expounds such lyrics as, “A-W-E-S-O-M-E, Awesome. Awesome…I know I’m cute I know I’m fine you know I make you number one…Anywhere but here cuz if you out with me then make me feel like I’m your queen.”
