Mike Grande - My Dash Between The Numbers
- Recording an instrumental rock record can be a tricky thing. Either it shows the true talent of the artist or it comes across like a cheesy 80’s film soundtrack. “My Dash Between the Numbers” falls into the latter company.
Mike Grande has created the soundtrack to the greatest 80’s movie you’ve never seen. “If I Can Learn To Fly” serves as the background music to the hot cheerleader taking the glasses off the dorky kid at the prom and planting one right on his lips. No doubt the jocks would be blasting “Stovie” from the star quarterback's Trans-Am, as they throw beers back and toss the football around. And of course, “Crossing Neverland” is the piece of music being heard while they show all the yearbook pictures and what they went on to be at the end of the film.
Nonetheless, Grande is a skilled guitar player, but “My Dash Between The Numbers” sounds as dated as a New Coke.
