Inner Party System - The Download Ep
- Inner Party System’s “The Download Ep” is an electronica album in the truest sense. The band is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is made up of Jesse Cronan on keyboards, Patrick Nissley on vocals, Jared Piccone on drums and Kris Barman on guitar and keyboards.
“Don’t Stop” begins with a futuristic electronica-like intro. The tones are recurrent as Nissley sings lines that have a religious bend to them as exhibited by “I find my way to talk to God so He can live with what I got…I gave up everything up for fame…Don’t stop.”
On “Heart of Fire” there is pulsing drum work from Piccone, as Nissley goes on about an improved period in his romantic relationship. “You remember me from a better time, infatuation with each other could summarize. All this is tied to the love, the love you had assumed would never die.”
“The Way We Move” has Nissley’s vocals heavily contorted and accompanied by buzzing as he begs a particular woman to move her body a certain way. “Dance for me. She’s simply just a concept baby. You don’t know how much I can get, and when you speak you speak of sex.” The message of this song is quite erotic, which might entice listeners.
“The Download Ep,” from Inner Party System, includes an assembly of varying messages from enlightening to overtly sexual. Yet, no matter what the band is attempting to communicate, they do so through a very danceable melody.
