Anton Sword - A Sentimental Education
- Anton Sword’s first album, A Sentimental Education, is a collection of fresh melodies and thought-provoking lyrics, all tied up in soulful ballads about love and human existence. While some songs uplift the soul, others leave you with a heavy heart and serious point of view.
The songs take you through an emotional journey as if telling a story of Sword’s life. A New York City native, Sword fell in love with music as a child. Now as a professional musician, he has formed his own band which is currently playing in the NYC area. Band members include Jessica Halman, Kristofer Widholm and Joanna Choy. Nontraditional instruments such as the caramel cello, golden guitar and silver voice are responsible for the band’s mesmerizing music.
Some songs sound similar to The Beatles, while others take on a much more modern sound comparative to Radiohead, or the mysterious and powerful Portishead. Sword’s beautiful voice will leave you in a dreamlike trance by the end of the album.
