Brooke Fraser - Albertine
- New Zealand singer/songwriter Brooke Fraser recorded her second studio album, Albertine, in Los Angeles. In keeping with her journey, the songs on that album reflect an air of worldliness and maturity. Though accompanied by some of the world’s finest musicians, Fraser’s vocals are the centerpiece on Albertine, especially when they soar in songs such as “Deciphering Me,” also available as a single, and “Love, Where Is Your Fire.” Though Albertine is a Christian worship album, you don’t have to be religious to enjoy these songs, which also sound musically like pop. If you do tire of Fraser’s voice, however, a short respite from her singing comes about halfway through the album with the seventh song, “Epilogue,” being nothing more than an instrumental track. If you enjoy Christian pop music, then give Albertine a listen.
