Jessy J - Tequila Moon
- Jessy J’s debut album, Tequila Moon, exhibits her saxophone playing, demonstrating her talent and skill, and making for good smooth jazz music. Most of the songs on the CD are instrumentals, with only two songs, “Mas Que Nada” and “Besame Mucho,” having lyrics sung by Jessy J. The songs’ Spanish lyrics lend a more pronounced Latin touch to the jazz album, which also has some song titles that refer to Spanish culture or are in Spanish (“Tequila Moon,” “Spanish Nights,” “Sin Ti—Without You” and “Fiesta Velada”). Listening to Jessy J’s laid-back vocals is less exciting than hearing her saxophone playing, however. She is accompanied by various musicians, none of them playing on all of the album’s 11 tracks. Dave Beyer on drums/percussion, Paul Brown on guitar (and who also mixed, recorded and produced the album), Kiki Ebsen on piano/strings, Sergio Flores on drums, Richie Gajate-Garcia on percussion, Donald Hayes on keyboards/bass/drums, Greg Karukas on keyboards/strings, Nino Sanchez on percussion, Oscar Seaton on drums, Roberto Vally on bass and Chad Wright on drums all contributed to Tequila Moon.
