Arianna Solare - Book of Us
- Arianna Solare makes her album debut with Book of Us, which contains five original tracks that may recall the music of the ‘60s and ‘70s to the minds of its listeners. Solare’s songs sound a bit dreamy in her vocal style and in her lyrics, similar to the dreaminess of psychedelic rock, but her music still retains a contemporary sound. The singer’s low, accented vocals are also adequately soulful, if not completely smooth-sounding. Though the album’s title and its opening track, “Lift Me Up,” may sound religious, Solare’s songs focus more on love and lovers as well as observations and questionings of life. The final track, “Are You Coming with Me,” differs from the others by being much more autobiographical in its lyrics. The album’s music is provided by guitarist Angelo Vermuelen, drummer Chris Steele and bassist Henrik Linde. The album also contains appearances by cellist Brent Arnold and pianist Dan Trollinger.
