Self-Titled
Zane Lewis's self-titled album has everything a country fan could possibly want: songs that make you want to dance and sing along to, making a fool of yourself performing a song like "A Helluva Time" on Karaoke Night at a local bar, as well as soft heartfelt ballads. Each song spins a story through its melody and lyrics.
The album kicks in with the song, "Welcome to the Southland," and it's a great opener, introducing the listener(s) to life down south: yelling at the TV, dancing all night long, and drinking whiskey. It does sing of some stereotypical things the South is known for, like loving Nascar, but it treats them with a whole new light ? not caring because, "We're a little bit backwards, here in the backwoods, but who cares as long as it feels good," according to the song.
"This'll Be a Memory" is a beautiful soft ballad telling the tale of a man holding on to a moment with a love, with heartfelt lyrics like the chorus, "This'll be a blanket on a cold cold night wrappin' me up and holdin' me tight The moment I keep in the back of my mind that never fades away This'll be the proof I need that love exists and one more thing I'm gonna miss When the years finally whisper in your name." For girls who cry very easily, be warned. Many other ballads are written with similar heartfelt lyrics and telling stories of love and heartbreak.
A fun album to be loved by country fans.
