Bittersweet World

Ashlee Simpson's first two albums, Autobiography and I Am Me, debuted at No. 1, and were packed with radio-friendly hits. Now, with her third studio album, Bittersweet World, the pop singer hopes to deliver more of the same.

This time around, Simpson had some help from a crowd most commonly associated with Justin Timberlake and Madonna. She worked on the album with producers Timbaland, Chad Hugo (the Neptunes), and Kenna to create a more beat-oriented sound than that on her first two albums.

The first single, "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)," is a wacky-happy track with a catchy hook, while the second single, "Little Miss Obsessive," helps Simpson return to her pop/rock roots.

Bittersweet World is a collection of pop/dance tracks with funky beats and her signature guitar-based sound. Although it may not be the risk-taking hit that Simpson wanted, it's still worth a listen, and her fans will be satisfied.
