Jacky & Strings - New Era
- Jacky and Strings’ New Era blends traditional Latin sounds with a little American, especially in some of the vocals, which are rap. Every song can be played in a gathering whether at a club or a wedding because everyone would love dancing to them; I was dancing in my chair as I was making notes for this review. “Vamonos Paya” is a good opening to the album, displaying the qualities of all of these songs.
Many of the beginning tracks have good Latin guitar licks and the melodies make it great for any mambo, cha cha, or even the tango. Some songs also use English lyrics. However, the last three songs were all instrumental and it became a little dull; it would have been better if the three instrumental songs broke up the album.
Anyway you look at, or listen to it, it's easy to enjoy, making you want to sing, even if you do not know the language, and dance the night away at some fiesta.
