Richard Gagnier - Misfit King
- Richard Gagnier’s Misfit King is a little less than a half hour and he uses all that time to tell as many jokes as he has, not sticking to two or a few stories that are fun. In some ways he is a reminder of Mitch Hedberg, using lots of stories and jokes that are only a few lines long. He is not afraid to bounce around from subject to subject, but it flows well.
Many of his jokes are funny; they’re not hysterical. Gagnier is a bit dirty, a little childish, sometimes absurd, and purposefully somewhat brainless, but that is what makes him entertaining. He wants people to laugh at stupid things when not many find certain subjects, such as getting turned into a chimp during mass, very amusing. Is this a great comedic routine? No, but you will get a few laughs out of it.
