Man Raze - Surreal
- Man Raze combines the talents of three musicians from well-known bands: Phil Collen of Def Leppard, Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols, and Simon Laffy of Girl. After playing with their respective bands, they decided it was time for some change and created the 12 track Surreal. Upon playing the tracks on this album, a listener will hear music that is radio-friendly, catchy, and stadium rock 'n' roll. Each song is filled with great guitar solos that are reminiscent of the '80s when guitarists knew how to wail on guitar (whereas many today do not seem to know or they just do not get the chance often) and rock 'n' roll was fun. The lyrics are easy to sing along with as you dance or jump or nod your head in the midst of the pit at a concert.

There are only two problems I have with this album and those are that I do not think the vocals are that powerful, which might just be age, and a few tracks have too much of an '80s vibe. Man Raze brings back the styles that many loved, but occasionally there is not enough of a current sound, at least from what I can hear. Other than this, it is an entertaining album that will please loads of rock 'n' roll fans.
