Bajofondo Tango Club - Mardulce
- Bajofondo Tango Club, one of the leaders in Latin electronica, presents their latest album, Mardulce, a lively and exotic collection of traditional Latin rhythms remixed to dance club standard. An interesting mix of energetic rhythms, both traditional and contemporary, Mardulce is a dynamic album.
Bajofondo Tango Club opens Mardulce with “Grand Guignol.” Though it has traditional instruments and features rich piano riffs and melodic strings, “Grand Guignol” is set against an electronic backbeat. The result is a vibrant mix of sound, one that features a powerful melody. “Grand Guignol” is, without question, a track that calls for dancing.
Mardulce virtually has no weak track, and each track is emotionally and technically unique. However, there are a few tracks that stand out, including the richly romantic “Cristal,” and the popular single, “Pa’ Bailar,” a traditional tango complemented by synthesized beats.
An extensive album, Mardulce contains 17 tracks, all of which are substantial. A pioneer in the burgeoning genre of “electrotango,” Bajofondo Tango Club continues their musical success with Mardulce. With tracks ranging from spirited to passionate, Mardulce covers a range of emotions, all enhanced by powerful backbeats and traditional instrumentation. Bajofondo Tango Club expertly arranges each of the tracks on Mardulce, and their uses of strings, piano, and accordion make Mardulce shine.
