Billy Idol - Idolize Yourself
- Oh that Billy Idol. Even when he isn't actively creating new music, he's still a hot commodity. He even creates a stir with small cameos, like in The Wedding Singer. Billy Idol is still a force to reckon with, more than 20 years after he ruled the charts, and the 1980's.
Billy Idol's newest collection, of his greatest hits, is titled Idolize Yourself. It is a great thing to just sit back and listen to some of the best songs, not only by Billy Idol, but of the 1980's. I didn't even realize that Idol sang "Hot In The City" and "Dancing With Myself."
Regardless, he definitely went up in my eyes, for doing so. Idol's new collection of old classics is a great treat, both for fans of 80's music, and for rock afficionados. Most of the "greatest of" songs on this album are toe-tapping good numbers, especially the first three tunes.
This album comes out in late June. Fans of the ageless Billy Idol should definitely check this new CD out, if only to be able to have his best songs all together in one place. Before hearing this CD, I could never count myself as an Idol fan, as I just didn't realize he was behind so many different facts of 80's music flavor bonanzas. I have officially joined the ranks of Idol fans now. Rock on, Billy!
